As part of its broader commitment to advance youth engagement and promote civic responsibility, AETOS Training Academy recently conducted a drone enrichment programme at Bedok Green Primary School. More than 20 students from primary four to six participated in the two-day sessions.
The programme aimed to introduce the youths to the basics of drone technology and educate them on safe drone usage for recreational purposes. With hands-on experience and guidance from AETOS' licensed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilots, the students gained valuable insights into the various components and potential applications of drone technology. During the sessions, they were also given the opportunity to build and fly their own drones in a safe and responsible manner.
“Through such initiatives, AETOS aims to engage and inspire the younger generation to develop a strong sense of civic responsibility,” said Mr. Vincent Soh, Vice President of Integrated Training. “By partnering institutions like Bedok Green Primary School, we are able to put our corporate purpose of Securing Our Future into practice. This is achieved by promoting positive social and security outcomes while contributing to the development of the younger generation and the wider community.”
The drone enrichment programme is just one example of AETOS’ ongoing efforts to uplift communities by investing in youth development and education through collaboration. Other initiatives include conducting K-9 outreach talks, hands-on educational green workshops and leadership development courses for educational institutions and non-profit organisations, among others.
